Who We Are
WTM is an organization working towards promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in Myanmar. The organization aims to support women leaders, women entrepreneurs and women founders in Myanmar by providing them with consultancy and training to effectively advocate for women’s rights at individual, community, and national levels. WTM runs several programs that focus on leadership development, economic empowerment, the intersection of Businesses and Human Rights and Gender equity.
In addition, women all over Myanmar can conveniently join free online events such as Webinars, Art and Craft trainings, Occupational Health and Safety Training, access to Social Media Apps and Free Online Entrepreneurship Courses. Women can join WTM-Business club for Business Training, consultancy service and mentoring.
WTM aims to help Women Entrepreneurs especially SME/MSME and Startups to become a market leader and be able to establish strong and sustainable businesses.

Our mission is to build a supportive network that nurtures women's leadership and innovation, fostering a society where every woman can succeed and inspire change.
Our Vision
Women Transforming Myanmar strives to create a lasting impact by opening doors for women-led businesses and bringing positive changes across the country. WTM also aims to help women-led SMEs build strong, sustainable businesses and become market leaders.
Our work is based on three pillars.
1. Business Training and consultancy Service
WTM provide Business training and consultation service to Women-led SME/MSMEs. It’s believed that fostering entrepreneurship will bring sustainable job creation and boost the development of new products, processes and organizational innovation. WTM provided Mentor and Coaching services at SUN Business Program, FNF’s She innovates Program, Peri-urban by UN Women program and now WTM is servicing a consultant /expert for Women Entrepreneurship program at e-learning platform developed by UNDP, UN Women and Impact Hub Yangon.
2. Women Empowerment and Gender Equality
WTM is dedicated to empower women in business especially MSME/SME for their social, cultural, economic change for equality and the realization of human rights for all, regardless of gender, sexuality, or other forms of identity. WTM focus on developing leaders by providing skills and knowledge they need to acquire and create positive change and challenge systemic oppression. With the support of UN Women, WTM is providing Transformative Feminist Leadership Program for Women Led SME/MSME across the country.
3. Networking
In our network and at our events we connect our women led SME/MSME with each other as well as with established companies and other ecosystem players.

Our CEO's Profile
Ma Thiri Aung
Thiri Aung, CEO and Founder of Women Transforming Myanmar, is a seasoned entrepreneur with an MBA from Swiss Business School and 17 years of trading experience. Co-founding Mickey's Real Wood Upcycled Furniture in 2017, recognized by the Netherlands-based One to Watch Organization, she transitioned from corporate life to entrepreneurship.
In 2020, Thiri established WTM to empower women-led businesses, offering mentorship and training. As a speaker, consultant, and advocate for responsible businesses and gender equity, Thiri has made a lasting impact, training over 500 women and mentoring 100+ SMEs, contributing to the entrepreneurial landscape's growth.
